Anthony Georgiadis, Sales DirectorA proud family-owned business founded in 1989, Amscorp Scientific stands out for its use of deterministic testing methods. This approach guarantees definitive quantitative results in leak detection, a critical factor in the company’s success, highlighted by its partnership with Packaging Technologies and Inspection (PTI). The firm’s collaboration with PTI, a leading US-based provider of deterministic leak detection technology, has further solidified its position in the industry.
The industry-wide transition from probabilistic to deterministic testing methods, as advocated by regulatory standards such as Annex 1 and USP 1207, marks a watershed moment in quality assurance. With Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and other regulatory bodies steering away from probabilistic methods, Amscorp’s adoption of deterministic testing highlights its commitment to the highest levels of reliability and precision. This shift from traditional, subjective, and potentially destructive methods like the methylene blue dye test enables the firm to offer innovative solutions that meet the market’s evolving demands. The company’s journey is not just about integrating new technologies; it is about setting a new benchmark for certainty and trust in leak detection.
Anthony Georgiadis, Sales Director of Amscorp Scientific, highlights the transformative impact of these methods on the industry’s regulatory compliance and sustainability efforts by stating, “Deterministic methods are, quantitative, non-subjective, repeatable, and often non-destructive.”
VeriPac’s core technology is based on the ASTM vacuum decay leak test method (F2338) recognised by the FDA as a consensus standard for package integrity testing. This ASTM test method was developed using VeriPac leak test instruments. At a high level, vacuum decay testing entails placing a product inside a chamber, pulling a vacuum and monitoring vacuum levels over time. A change in pressure indicates a leak in the product, enabling Amscorp to detect even the most minute defects. Using PTI’s patented technology, Amscorp offers the highest level of sensitivity, repeatability and accuracy. This method is currently used in various industries, specifically pharmaceutical and medical devices,
The company stands at the forefront of technological progress, merging automation and robotics to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Amscorp Scientific asserts that automation not only improves precision and accuracy but also guarantees uniformity in production quality. Its longstanding partnerships with global leaders like PTI also reflect the company’s dedication to offering accurate and efficient services.
Amscorp Scientific, with over three decades of experience and a focus on customization and quality, continues to lead the way in providing comprehensive leak testing solutions adapted to the changing demands of industries across Australia and New Zealand.
