Alignment with Emerging Trends

ELPRO has seen rapid growth in temperature-sensitive products. Biologics and cell and gene therapies all require strict temperature control. According to Osl, compliant monitoring is crucial, and access to the data that proves it has become key. “A trend we are seeing is taking monitoring data for ex-post proof of compliance or more detailed analyses and using that for preventive actions based on predictive analytics,” he says.

The rise of real-time monitoring is another trend, and the launch of ELPRO’s LIBERO Gx was one of the first multiuse, real-time data loggers featuring a battery lifetime of up to 12 months without recharging.

Osl notes that many pharma companies, after implementing serialization, are now thinking about ways to use their efforts for additional value-added processes. One direction is to combine serialization with temperature data over all steps in the supply chain. Ultimately, it will optimize supply chains; reduce risks, product loss and time to market. “This will create end-to-end visibility to offer a new dimension of possibilities using stability budgets of products,” Osl explains. “We strongly believe customers will need one solution for monitoring for rooms, equipment and products in transit and we are wellprepared for that with our ELPRO Cloud.”
