In one instance, IDBS partnered with a cell line development group that was taking about six to eight weeks to generate a report. The delay was caused by its existing paper and electronic laboratory notebook and Excel-driven processes that manually connected data, materials, equipment, and people.

Once IDBS identified the challenges and bottlenecks, it conducted a series of workshops to map out their cell line development processes, business rules and desired flexibility, and then deployed the IDBS Platform. This enabled the generation of a final cell line development report in about three weeks, reducing the typical reporting time by more than half.
