Addex Therapeutics is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical business dedicated to the research and marketing of allosteric modulators, a new class of orally accessible small molecule medicines for neurological illnesses. Allosteric modulators have various potential advantages over non-allosteric compounds, and they may provide a better therapeutic approach to small molecule or biological therapies that are orthosteric. The allosteric modulator drug discovery platform developed by Addex focuses on receptors and other proteins that are known to be important for therapeutic intervention.
Dipraglurant (mGlu5 negative allosteric modulator or NAM), Addex's flagship drug candidate, is now in a key registration clinical trial for Parkinson's disease levodopa-induced dyskinesia and has begun a Phase 2 clinical trial for the treatment of blepharospasm, a kind of dystonia. Addex's third clinical initiative is in a Phase 2a clinical study for the treatment of epilepsy, developed in conjunction with Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Addex's GABAB PAM programme has been licenced by Indivior PLC for the development of medication candidates with an addiction emphasis. GABAB PAM for CMT1A, mGlu7 NAM for PTSD, mGlu2 NAM for moderate neurocognitive disorders, mGlu4 PAM for Parkinson's disease, and mGlu3 PAM for neurodegenerative illnesses are among the preclinical initiatives. Throughout the forums, Mr Dyer will be accessible for virtual one-on-one meetings.
