Headquartered in Novara, Italy, Pharma Research Center (PRC) Ticinum Lab is an independent GMP and GLP authorised and FDA inspected contract laboratory. Since 2001, it offers high-level analytical services for Pharma companies, both API and Finished dosage forms, covering all the steps of the drug development—from discovery up to the post-market activities. The lab’s activities cover all the analytical aspects such as method development and validation, stability studies, impurity profile characterisation, genotoxic impurities evaluation, bioanalytical testing, interaction with packaging and leachable studies, as well as Batch Release testing both for synthetic and biotech drugs. “We are a research center providing the pharmaceutical industry worldwide with extensive scientific and technical know-how and high quality, value-added analytical services,” says Luisa Zangirolami, the General Manager of PRC Ticinum Lab.

The company, with a turnover of about 5,000 K€, counts 50 employees, who have a degree in pharmaceutical chemistry and technology, analytical chemistry or biology. PRC Ticinum Lab’s headquarters are located in a unique building characterised by its innovative design and low environmental impact. The building was designed in the ‘80s by the Italian architectural genius Renzo Piano for the research of light metals by the Donegani Institute, a historical centre of excellence in chemical research.

PRC Ticinum Lab has been instrumental in Brexit analytical transfer activities and importation testing organisation where they have successfully carried out more than ten controlled drug products. Another case is the company’s support for the Nitrosamines topic, developing methods for detecting them in traces in APIs and Drug Products, on behalf of risk assessments, in order to demonstrate the compliance of the products themselves to the challenging EMA and FDA regulations. “PRC Ticinum Lab management comes from laboratories very similar to the ones of our clients.
