Eric Sandberg, Owner; Harry Feby III., Production Manager; Steve Simpson, VP; Harry Feby Jr., Director of SalesQuint’s commitment to uncompromising quality has remained steadfast through generations. Every flexographic printing plate is meticulously verified through a proprietary 200-point checklist, an industry gold standard, to ensure regulatory compliance and flawless performance.
“We are built on a foundation of quality, which remains the core of everything we do,” says Eric Sandberg, owner.
Shaping the Future of Print Innovation
Deep industry expertise evolved over innovation that began in 1849, when S.H. Quint founded the company in the heart of Philadelphia. He started by creating stencils, stamps and marking supplies that left indelible impressions on crates and barrels destined for global markets. As printing technology evolved, Quint emerged as a full-service manufacturer, delivering state-of-the-art printing plates. Over time, it advanced from vulcanized rubber to photopolymer plates, continually reinventing its product line.
In the mid-20th century, leadership transitioned from the Quint family to the Davis family, which brought renewed focus on adapting to dynamic market demands. In the 1980s, under the visionary guidance of Richard Davis Jr, Quint pioneered pharmaceutical printing with innovations in barcode and blister packaging. Davis’ deep commitment to regulatory excellence and collaboration with organizations like the UCC and FDA took precision and efficiency a notch higher.
Quint continues its tradition of quality craftsmanship, producing historic plaques for the City of Philadelphia, USDA-approved meat inspection stamps, and custom printing stamps.
Excellence in Every Print, Impact in Every Delivery
Quality is the pulse of Quint. It has perfected FDA-compliant barcoding solutions in an industry where precision is paramount. Plates are engineered for exceptional accuracy, with the team ensuring efficient operations and quick turnaround times. Orders placed by 11AM are transformed into carefully crafted plates and shipped out the same day, highlighting its steadfast dedication and operational excellence.
The team goes the extra mile to quickly diagnose and resolve press issues, often preempting downtimes and providing speedy customer service.
“It’s more than just a business relationship—we genuinely partner with our clients to help them thrive in the industry,” says Steve Simpson, VP.
The team rigorously examines printed samples of each plate for critical details, including barcodes, copy, lot numbers, and expiration dates, and sends a report to clients.
This adds another layer of dedication to top-notch quality. The confidence instilled by the comprehensive quality control report makes the difference. Clients integrate insights from reports into their quality control systems to reduce costs and accelerate the plates. If scanning issues occur on their end, the team promptly reviews records and troubleshoots.
Relentless pursuit of excellence is a pillar of Quint’s success, with quality audits conducted with complete transparency. Clients are welcome to visit its facility and conduct on-site audits every two to three years to thoroughly review quality systems, processes and standard operating procedures. For the past 15 years, inspections have revealed absolutely no issues. It consistently earns high praise, with that “gold standard” designation coming from an independent auditor.
Redefining Print Standards
Exceptional quality control and plate consistency significantly boost cost savings for clients. Historically, clients ordered two plates per job, one as a backup if the client had a problem on press. With Quint, a single plate per job is all it takes.
Strong partnerships with leading press manufacturers enable the development of master systems tailored to a variety of presses. When customers submit their artwork, the team configures the tooling and customizes the setup process to match equipment and packaging requirements.
Expertise in serialization, barcode validation and regulatory compliance has helped countless pharmaceutical brands and secondary packaging companies optimize their processes to meet the FDA standards. Industry behemoths like AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer continue to rely on Quint to consistently deliver excellence across the board.
Its value proposition extends beyond pharmaceuticals to non-pharmaceutical clients. In 1969, Quint provided marking products for NASA’s Apollo missions. It creates plates for some of the world’s largest coffee and doughnut companies, and label plates for manufacturers of wood-alternative composite decking and other outdoor items. Sectors such as flexible packaging, folding cartons, and sterile medical device packaging also benefit from the offerings.
Quint Company continues to honor its rich heritage, ensuring industry-level reliability in every print, proving that commitment to excellence is the true mark of a timeless legacy.
